Meet the 2017 Scholars

Hello, my name is Eda Güney. I am from Erzincan, and currently, I am a Master of Science student in Curriculum and Instruction at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara.

After graduating from METU with a degree in Foreign Language Education, I worked as an English instructor at Ankara Medipol University and TED University, where I taught English courses. Later, I spent a year teaching English in Bangkok, which was an incredible opportunity to enhance my cultural understanding and teaching skills. Currently, I work as an English teacher at HE Academy, specializing in IELTS preparation and Business English courses.

Participating in Educ Program of Çağdaş Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği (Association for Supporting Contemporary Life) in 2017 was one of the moments in my life when I felt that the dreams I had longed for came true. During the one-month English language training program, I not only improved my language skills and cultural understanding but also became more confident and gained new perspectives that significantly influenced my academic and professional journey. Therefore,  the Educ Program stands out as one of the milestones in my life.

Experiencing the environment of London, which I had always dreamed of visiting, encouraged me to be bolder when making decisions about my life and career. Additionally, feeling the support of the sponsors and Ms.Güldal was one of the most important benefits of this program. When you are an undergraduate student and cannot afford to pursue your dreams, it’s not always easy to stay motivated to work toward them. Sometimes, you struggle with losing hope and holding on to your aspirations. Thus, I can say that the program fostered a sense of community and support and showed me how impactful and meaningful collaboration and dedication can be.

I am deeply grateful to the Educ Program  for investing in young minds like mine and empowering us to contribute positively to society.

Hi, I am Pınar. I am the one of Edu8 2017's girl.
I am an architect, an graduated from Istanbul Technical University. Now, I am working as Key
Account Manager Architecture&Design in the team of GROHE Turkey&Azerbaijan.
8 years ago, I could not have imagined that I would be working in this position in an
international company. Due to Educ8, I received an advanced level English education in
London. I had mentors who work in various sectors during the programme. They impressed
me greatly that another world was possible. I learned that wanting first, then working, makes
everything possible. The month I spent in this program gave me times I will never forget for
the rest of my life.
